We Achieved ISO 9001: 2015 Standard. Here’s Why it Matters
Earlier this month, we achieved our ISO 9001: 2015 registration following a recent audit conducted by NSF-ISR. We were previously certified under ISO 9001: 2008 after successfully completing a rigorous registration process and an in-depth external audit. The achievement demonstrates to our customers how much value we place on the quality of service we provide them and that they can trust us to be a well-managed company.
Why ISO Registrations Matter
The growing popularity of the ISO registrations didn’t just happen by chance. International registrations such as ISO allow business customers and corporations to ensure their partners, clients, and vendors are reputable, which is why the ISO systems prevail among the rest. Between 2015 and 2016, ISO saw an 8% increase in valid certificates among millions of companies worldwide, growing from 1,520,368 certificates to 1,643,523 certificates in a single year.
As a company with an ISO certification, it sets us apart from the rest, bringing great value to our business. However, obtaining an ISO certification is no easy task. In 2015 when we received the ISO 9001: 2008 registration, many internal steps had to be taken beforehand, including creating an ISO 9001 Quality Manual, and mapping all of our internal processes into process flowcharts. Next, an auditor from NSF-ISR conducted an audit and monitored our day-to-day operations to ensure they matched what the manual outlined. Following a successful audit, we were then registered under ISO 9001: 2008.
ISO 9001: 2008 To ISO 9001: 2015 Standard Update
In 2015, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) launched ISO 9001: 2015 that replaced the previous version (ISO 9001: 2008) to better maintain its focus on improving customer satisfaction and efficiency among millions of organizations and businesses worldwide. The updated standard focuses more on risk-based thinking, which means it helps to address organizational risks and opportunities using a systematic approach. The new version also puts a greater emphasis on leadership engagement within the organization and aims to address supply chain management more effectively.
Although the standard has been revised and updated, ISO’s goal for organizations and businesses remains the same: to establish a quality management system that aims at improving communications, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
What This Means for Our Customers
For a company such as ours, receiving an ISO 9001:2015 certificate puts us in a class of organizations who rank the best in their industry, and ones that recognize the importance of customer satisfaction and quality systems. But most importantly, it lets our customers know we care about the quality of service we provide them.
Choosing an ISO 9001:2015 registered company over a non-ISO 9001:2015 one means you are choosing a company that puts the customer first. Not only does our ISO 9001:2015 certification represent our determination to better our customer service, but it means you will get the highest-possible quality for your communication needs.
