Nova Communications’ Partner Zebra Technologies Awarded Visionary Status: What Does This Mean To You?
Here at Nova Communications, we are proud that our partner, Zebra Technologies, has achieved visionary status with their T5 Power Broadband Solutions and Zatar IoT platform. These powerful technologies are used in urban commercial settings, as well as in remote regions. That Gartner Inc., a prestigious international company, took notice of our partner’s achievements, is exciting. But how does this relate to our customers’ needs?
Who is Gartner?
Since 1979, Gartner Inc. has researched information technology and advised over 9,000 organizations, from “corporations and government agencies, to business leaders in high-tech and telecom enterprises and professional services firms, to technology investors.”
Gartner’s inclusion of Nova Communications’ partner Zebra Technologies as a “Visionary” in the 2015 Gartner Wired and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) Access Infrastructure Magic Quadrant confirmed what we already knew: that our customers have access to powerful, innovative, global technologies.
Who is Zebra Technologies?
Over thirty years ago, Zebra Technologies developed the first barcode printer and quickly followed that innovation with the first thermal barcode printer, after which the company began developing mobile printing technology.
Originally established as a data management company, the business grew into a global firm. In 2013, Zebra developed its award-winning Zatar IoT platform, and acquired Motorola Solutions Inc. the following year. Zebra CEO Anders Gustafsson told Forbes that Motorola Solutions “would allow for more complete product offerings which would fulfill critical, macro customer trends.”
T5 Power Broadband Solutions
When it comes to providing wireless solutions in remote areas, whether maritime or desert, Zebra’s T5 Power Broadband Solutions have been put to the test and have successfully passed. For instance, the company’s T5 Power Broadband was recently used to connect 234 residential caravans in the remote desert of Al-Ruwais near Abu Dhabi, and the client now plans to roll out similar deployments in two other locations.
Zatar IoT
Zebra’s Zatar IoT platform allows integrated data collection from a variety of sources across a spectrum of devices. What this means is that users have real-time data and convenient communication with team members. With dependable team communication and real-time data about inventory and supply, crises are mitigated – often before they can actually become crises.
Zatar IoT can also use iBeacon technology for location-based services, which is particularly relevant for retailers who want to offer guests discounts and coupons in real-time, based on where they are in the store.
Zebra’s Zatar IoT platform places various parties, devices and data on the same channel, keeping communication and information flow open and clear.
What does this mean for the future?
These developments indicate a surge in possibilities of mobile data, with technology that promises wider service areas and increased data capacity.
