Nova Communications Celebrates 35th Anniversary with Wireless Conference

To commemorate Nova Communications’ 35th anniversary, we celebrated with our Wireless: The Next Frontier conference on November 1st, 2017. The conference was positioned as a forum to bring together existing and emerging wireless trends in business technology and wrapped up with a 35th-anniversary celebration.

The conference kicked off with an opening session and lunch where we heard from our President and CEO, Joe Hickey, who discussed innovative projects that will lead the Nova team into the next stage of international growth. Ken Notter, VP and Director of Sales Canada for Motorola Solutions followed with a presentation where he spoke about Motorola’s cutting-edge communications technology that has positioned them as an industry leader and valued partner. We ended the opening session on a high-note with a presentation from our keynote speaker and industry partner, Francois Fortier, Enterprise Sales Executive for Apple. Francois discussed Apple’s recent product announcements and Enterprise Mobile Device Management technologies that continue to set them apart from competitors.

The day continued with breakout sessions from our channel partners, Zebra Technologies, Motorola Solutions, Cisco, and Canada’s Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks (CENGN). Zebra Technologies’ sessions included topics such as how megatrends are impacting the supply chain and how to maximize your investment on mobile devices and printers. Motorola Solutions’ sessions covered the power of unified communications and how Push-To-Talk and team communications allow workers to communicate in real time.

Attendees also got to sit in on our customer testimonial breakout sessions, where we heard from Yellowhead County and Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia. Both customers gave fascinating presentations on how Nova-designed solutions helped to increase safety capabilities and work efficiency in their organizations.

To close-off the successful day, Nova had several exciting announcements for Wireless: The Next Frontier attendees, as well as a cocktail reception with live music, and an official cake-cutting by the original Nova Communications founder, Gerry Hayward to celebrate Nova Communications’ 35th anniversary.

Of course, the day could not have happened without our sponsors – Motorola Solutions, Zebra Technologies, BlueStar, Apple, Cambium Networks, Cisco, A.P. Reid, Comprod, and RCAP Leasing, and Rimot RF.
