Corridor Resources Inc. Takes Advantage of Wireless
Frontrunner in onshore natural gas uses new wireless technology to create a competitive advantage
Corridor Resources Inc. is a name well-known around Atlantic Canada not only for its exploration of oil and gas, but for its use of innovative technologies for production.
So when the company was looking for wireless technology to use in the field, it turned to Nova Communications, a company familiar with the most up-to-date technologies as well as its expertise working in both offshore and onshore. Nova and its team brought its engineering and technical expertise and its partnership with other leaders in the wireless field, particularly Motorola, to the Corridor project.
Corridor had several requirements for the wireless system. It needed to be a new technology that could handle voice, data and video and had to be intrinsically safe and appropriate for use in the oil and gas industry. The system also had to be flexible, expandable and capable of growing along with Corridor and its technical needs in the field and elsewhere. Corridor called Nova, who gave the oil and gas company a system that provided a safe Motorola radio system with high-speed wireless to the oil field, as well as security cameras and gate communications.
“Using wireless was a powerful and cost-effective method for our start-up and additional field expansion,” said Doug Bailey, manager of production operations at Corridor.
“Nova Communications did a solid job of integrating diverse technologies to meet our needs.”
